Rick White’s passion is best summed up in his church’s mission statement: “to transform ordinary men and women into passionate followers of Christ.” As senior pastor of The People’s Church, Rick’s focus is on equipping others to share the good news of God’s love and forgiveness with people across the street and around the world.
Under his leadership the past 30 years, the church has grown from 300 members meeting in downtown Franklin – where the church had been located for 150 years – to a nearby 65-acre campus with more than 5,000 members. A second campus in the exploding community of Spring Hill, just south of Franklin, is home to 1000 of these members. A hallmark of Rick’s ministry has been his willingness to lead the congregation through multiple changes to keep the church’s focus and ministry fresh for the culture it seeks to reach.
The People’s Church lives out its vision of reaching people locally through many small groups, support groups, and local outreach projects. TPC seeks to reach others globally through an extensive outreach to countries on several continents as well as places throughout the United States. The church has established ongoing ministries around the globe including Ukraine, Malawi, Mozambique, Haiti and Uganda and has seen hundreds of members invest their lives in these efforts.
Rick grew up in the Birmingham, Alabama area and attended Southeastern Bible College and graduated from Samford University.
